We departed the marina at around 5:00 pm and dropped anchor in the Indian River at the end of the Barge Canal around 9:30 pm. The moon was very bright this evening making for easy late evening passage.
This was my first time stopping at Ski Island at the end of the barge canal. It really is a pretty spoils island. Radar and I had a good time exploring it.
Carter got in the water and tried to scrape the sides and prop at this location but the water was choppy causing it to be muddy and impossible to see and therefore dangerous.
With the Whaler in Tennessee, we brought The Spirit of Ellen Peterson (or Ellen for short) along on this trip. She's lighter than the Whaler and we will get better mileage. This is a passage to get there with little to no stopping off along the way so all we really need is a way to get Radar to shore for his leave. Like we always say "It's all about Radar." LOL
The Haulover Canal
We stopped for the night at Oak Hill. This location turned out to have favorable conditions for scraping the sides and bottom of the Arc while Radar and I explored another island.
