Arc Update July 2018

We have been back in Tennessee for more than 3 months so it was time to check on the Arc.  We also wanted to go out to check on a couple of hurricane hole possibilities in case we need to make a mad dash away from the marina.  It was good to get away.

The first place was the cross state canal, that was never completed.  It was a good days cruise.

We brought Ellen along for a dinghy this trip.

We realized that a tree limb had fallen on the front strut, port side support for the forward panels.  We need to get a welder, already to repair the damage done a couple years ago.  Good thing it's time to take the Arc to the yard for repairs and maintenance this fall.

The boat is always filthy, dirty after being left alone for a month.  As you can see below, I cleaned it while on the way upriver to get a potty dump.  Then I could fill the water tanks up while dumping the potty.

Looking good!

We traveled down the canal arriving at the dam just before evening.  We tied up to the dock and settled in to wait for morning.

Captain Carter determined these dolphins right in front of the entrance to the dam would make the perfect spot to tie up in the event of a hurricane.  Especially after we found out that the Coast Guard bring all their boats and ride out the hurricane inside the walls of the dam.  Even better but we are happy with our spot.

It was a nice evening.  Radar sure was enjoying the cruise!

The next day we checked out the Ocklawaha River.  It was a beautiful cruise on a super hot day.
